How to find good homes for the kittens I'm fostering...?
I happened upon a stray little black kitten in the parking lot of my apartment complex, I took her in even though my apartment has a no pet policy. It was snowing and some frat boys were throwing rocks at her, I don't think my consciense would have let me leave her there. I was raised in a family that has always taken in strays so I was suckered in by those big, beautiful green eyes. I thought I'd take her in for the night since warm weather was on the way or maybe try to find her a good home. Temporary thing right? ...Wrong!! Turns out she was pregnant. :S So, no letting her back out into the cold and no way to find her a good home- no one wanted to adopt one cat and end up with five. Go figure. Well, to make the rest of the story short the new plan is to keep her until her kittens are weened, find them all good homes, and try not to get evicted. (The local pet shelters are kind of shady and have regular reports of abuse/ disease, so no go there. In case you were wondering why I didn't drop her off.) She had four beautiful, healthy babies, and ironically, they're all white. I love them all and want to find them good homes (and quickly,) but I have a lot of concerns. I want to find them good owners with a good home, drug-free, and who don't believe in de-clawing. I live in a college town so that may be harder than it sounds. Does any one have any suggestions? I've heard of pet adoption web-sites that you can list preferences for the potential owners and review matches, but that makes me nervous too, since I don't know much about it. I don't even know what the site is called. So any tips, info, past experiences , and reurances welcome! Thanks a bunch!
