My best friend got in a car accident because some kid made an unsafe lane change into her lane, the car was about to hit her, and she reacted by swerving out of the lane, which caused her to lose control and run into a median. Witnesses who stopped, saw the whole thing and gave their details to the cops. The cops filed the report claiming that the kid was at fault because he made an unsafe lane change. My friend sent that to his insurance, and they say they are only going to cover 15% of the cost, and she is lucky she is even getting that because his car didnt make contact. he is rude, oh and he works for state farm in case you are interested. since this kid is at fault, isnt she intitled to the full coverage? If abusing alcohol is a 'disease' and smoking cigarettes is as hard to quit as Heroin, why isn't smoking a disease like alcoholism? It's just as genetically linked as alcoholism is. It's just as addicting, if not more. It would be called Smokalism. However, drinking & driving can injure/kill others, where smoking only kills yourself and is legal to do while driving. Toilet does not flush properly?

My toilet does not flush properly. It's not a water saver toilet, it allows all the water from the tank to enter into the bowl, and it's not clogged. You can see the water swirling into the bowl and the level of the water in the bowl does not rise but it doesn't get suctioned out either. If I use a gallon bucket and dump the water into it then it suctions and flushes properly. This means the water just isn't dumping fast enough from the tank to the bowl. All the water jets around the rim of the bowl appear to be expelling a proper amount of water except for 3 or 4 which trickle out. I think this is the problem. 1) Does this sound like the problem (does this happen) 2) best way to fix it 3) possble alternative problem area in case this isn't the problem. Please no comments like 'call plumber' or 'google toilet problems' etc. Thanks

Get a second opinion! Arthritis cannot travel for one thing and for the second it doesn't travel that quickly!!! It takes years for it to effect joints etc and so i think the original diagnosis is very, very wrong! I believe your dog has been mis-diagnosed and has been given the wrong drugs over time and thats whats shutting his system down. Take him off all tablets, all his other drugs and start him on a diet of fresh veg ( raw ), fresh meat ( cooked, esp: chicken ) a protein drink such as Complan or Build-Up if he'll drink it and some simple painkillers prescribed or allowed by the vet - please ask the vet on this one otherwise you could do terrible damage to his stomach. Every night - lay him down and mage his limbs and spine with Voltarol Gel, make his back legs especially cycle as if he's on a bike, it'll help with stiffness and pain! Always get a vets say-so on drugs meant for us please, its important but do change your dogs diet, its vital! Best of luck to you both - and if your dog recovers - sue the vet!!! Take care.

At restaurant 4 yr old kid repeatedly kicking seat of friend with back injury - how would you handle?

Yesterday I was at a nicer restaurant with an older friend who had a back injury from a car accident several years ago. A boy approx 4-5 yrs old was sitting in the booth behind ours and repeatedly kicking the seat, hurting my friend. She stuck her head around and in her very sweet way asked the mom to stop him from kicking the seat as it was really hurting her. After about 5 min I saw her visibly in pain and asked her what was going on. She said the kicking had picked up again and was nonstop. I stood up to see over the top of the booth seat. In a polite, friendly manner with a smile I asked mom if she could get him to stop the kicking, as it was really hurting my friend who'd had a back injury. She snapped, "I don't know what you expect me to do! He's sitting here behaving himself." I politely suggested that the two of them swap seats, as there was no one behind hers that would be disturbed by kicking. In a huff she snatched him up and sat him beside her on her side. It solved the problem, and my friend was able to dine without further pain. How would you have handled the situation? I wouldn't say he was "behaving" if he was continually kicking someone's seat.

My husband and I went on vacation for 3 weeks...and when we left we informed out apartment complex so they could check on our place. Well, the girl we told conveniently quit! I was on the bus today, because unfortunately my car is being detailed. Well I was appalled by way most of the pengers on the bus presented themselves. The women were absolutely ghastly. Quitting smoking is a hard thing to do . I smoked many years and tried the patch,gum, and the slowly weaning off thing but none of them worked. The best thing to do is what I did. It takes a lot of will power but it is the only thing that worked for me . Cold Turkey is what it is called . It was hard for the first 2 weeks but then I was fine . The longer you smoke the more damage you do to your lungs and shortens your life expectancy. When you Quit and change your life style you could add 20 years to your life span. Hey, so this is kind of a complicated situation because you have to decide if this is something you think you can get over or not. Im a senior in college and my roommate is a nursing student. She loves blood and guts, shes been in clinicals and has had to see some pretty gross stuff. The other day she stood in on a C-section with twins, that stuff is no joke, its pretty gory. Its something youre going to have to really live with so if you dont think you can handle it, i suggest not doing it, there are other areas in the health field you can consider if you cant handle it. Nursing school is also very demanding in that there are really early clinicals sometimes like 5 am and the science cles are NO joke. Theyre just like premed cles. I dont mean to scare you away from this, but you shouldknow what you're in for...if you think you can get over the blood and gore and you're a dedicated student who is driven and ambitious....go for it! What exactly does appendicitis feel like?

I've looked up the symptoms of appendicitis and i think i might have it but i want to see what real people who have actually had it say. This morning a woke up with a cramping pain in my lower middle abdomen but it wasnt that bad so i decided to go to school anyway. The pain never went away but it didnt actually start to get really bad until it was almost time to go home. By then, the pain turned into a sharp pain and its on my lower right side now. It wasnt unbearable but it was pretty bad but i toughened it out and made it through the rest of the day. Now I'm home relaxing on my bed but the pain still isnt getting any better. It actually seems like its getting worse. I dont have an appetite and i have a temperature of 99.8 From time to time i'll get this feeling that i'm going to throw up but i dont. I can still stand and walk but it really hurts and i cant stand straight. It's already 7:30 here so all the doctors are closed but i'll definitely tell my mom to take me tommorow morning if the pain doesnt go away but hopefully i can sleep it off. How to find good homes for the kittens I'm fostering...?

I happened upon a stray little black kitten in the parking lot of my apartment complex, I took her in even though my apartment has a no pet policy. It was snowing and some frat boys were throwing rocks at her, I don't think my consciense would have let me leave her there. I was raised in a family that has always taken in strays so I was suckered in by those big, beautiful green eyes. I thought I'd take her in for the night since warm weather was on the way or maybe try to find her a good home. Temporary thing right? ...Wrong!! Turns out she was pregnant. :S So, no letting her back out into the cold and no way to find her a good home- no one wanted to adopt one cat and end up with five. Go figure. Well, to make the rest of the story short the new plan is to keep her until her kittens are weened, find them all good homes, and try not to get evicted. (The local pet shelters are kind of shady and have regular reports of abuse/ disease, so no go there. In case you were wondering why I didn't drop her off.) She had four beautiful, healthy babies, and ironically, they're all white. I love them all and want to find them good homes (and quickly,) but I have a lot of concerns. I want to find them good owners with a good home, drug-free, and who don't believe in de-clawing. I live in a college town so that may be harder than it sounds. Does any one have any suggestions? I've heard of pet adoption web-sites that you can list preferences for the potential owners and review matches, but that makes me nervous too, since I don't know much about it. How do I get back to india after just returning to USA?

My husband is in india now with his very sick and critical father. His returning ticket is for after 4 1/2 weeks which was the plan but instead of his father getting better from surgery it has put him in a critical state and is in a coma. The hospital bill is getting very expensive and I'm doing what I can to send what money we have but we now realise in order to keep up with the continuing hospital bill, my husband is going to have to come back to the US and go back to work so we can send money. More than likely his father will continue to be in a coma and a nonresponsive state when he leaves there. Its very hard for him to leave his father like that which is understandable. There is a law that says you can't travel back withiin a 3 month period once you've just returned from there. But what if my father in law pes away during that time? My husband has to be able to get there as soon as possible. Is there some form of emergency procedure he is able to do in case this happens? My husband is a US citizen. Thanks for your help.

Have a radiant heating system question about thermostats!?

I have a duplex that was built in 1960. Seeing as it is located in florida they went with radiant heating in the ceiling. I need to replace the thermostats and all I can find are ones that are for 4-5 wire systems. I need to know what I can do about replacing all of the thermostats. Need help feeding finicky marine fish?

My blue hippo and imperator angel don't eat the conventional way (you throw food in the tank they come and devour it). Instead, they hide when i approach the tank and if i throw the food, the food will just float and sink to the bottom and foul the water. I found a workaround by putting a whole piece of Formula 2 frozen in a piece of net on a clip, then my hippo will come once in a while and pick at it then move away, come back pick some more, then move away. This goes one for hours until the whole cube is gone. However, the angel food does not stay whole, neither do 90% of the fish foods, they just float into pieces, so i can't play the same trick with the angel. what do i do? he picks at the algae strips on the clip, but i want to also feed him the proper angel foods. Please help

Should my mom rent her house out in CA or sell it?

My mom who's 70 and on a fixed income is currently living with me in Boise waiting for her house to sell in Northern California. She wants to have her own place but is kind of in limbo right now because of the market. Some family members think she should just rent it out and wait for the market to turn around (which I know may take a while) instead of selling it for what she would get for it right now. Her home is paid for so she could afford to lower her price and still pay cash for one here. There are a ton of homes flooding the market here in Boise too, so she could still get a great deal on a home here eventually as well. If she rents it out, she would have to rent something for herself here. When the market does turn around and she was to sell then, wouldn't she lose a big chunk of it to taxes anyways if it was rented out longer than 2 years? Thanks for any advice!!!!

thats a very hard decision to make. if you tell him, you risk ending the relationship with him and your mom and possibly with you. even though he loves you a lot of men will just turn into jerks and walk away. your mother may never forgive you and it could cause a ripple between you and her. on another note, if you are his only "child" and he gets "fixed" then finds out, he may regret not having a child of his own. its a tough decision to make. i also feel that it shouldnt be your decision to have to make but your mother should have told him. he deserves to know. what if you needed an organ or something and she wasnt a match??? im surprised he didnt find out at the hospital. i would personally myself tell him because i feel he should know but be aware of all the things that could go wrong from doing it. be careful, think it out fully. good luck

My husband and I are planning to be foster parents, but we have to wait until Feb. to start paper work and stuff b/c we haven't been married for two years yet, it'll be two years in August, but they said we could start the paper work in Feb. Wandering cat has returned should I keep him in?

Before my current situation, I lived in a virtual zoo. My husband, not being a cat lover, wasn't too keen on me bringing 8 cats into the home so my daughter has the brood. But they weren't all acquired at the same time. They have learned to live together, or not. We have one who simply avoids the others because he's a bit antisocial. He hisses at the others when they get in his space and they've just learned to steer clear. But over time, they have all learned to live in the same house and even made the move to my daughters with little kerfuffle. I say let mum keep jr at a distance and they'll work out an arrangement on they're own. If 8 cats can sort it out (my brother has 17 and 5 of them are companion cats that he takes on visitations to nursing homes) I should think 2 can find a way to live together. As for the sneezing, I think I'd have a vet look at that. No telling what he was exposed to out in the wide world and better to be safe than sorry.

I have mono and feel like crap, what to do?

I need some advice, I was diagnoised with mono on sunday and I've been on isolation for the past week or so. I'm going nuts. 93 eagle talon.. starts fine, then sputters?

the car starts fine and idles around 2000rpms for about 20 to 30 seconds. Then the rpms drop to around 500 to 700 and then the idle becomes very rough and sputters( sounds kinda like its running out of gas). Then when i accelerate, it seems to have loss alot of the horsepower, very slow acceleration. Plus while driving, the rpms are about 500 higher than it was before. Ive checked the air intake and coolent system for holes, found none. Im still getting sparks from the spark plugs, so im starting to run out of ideas. any help is greatly appreciated

I think that in our long-ago past we eat anything suitable and that includes insects and their grubs. Yes we are revolted by the thought of eating them but it's only us descended from modern Europeans. Does anyone know what a dense liver means once they use a sonogram and what could it be causing it?

I had to get an ultrasound and an MRI to diagnose gallstones and on the report it said I had a dense liver. I had my gallbladder removed when I was 17 and the doc never said anything about being concerned with my dense liver. I've looked it up on the internet and all I can find is stuff about alcoholism and some pretty serious diseases. If your doc isn't too concerned with it, it may just be a fatty liver. Dense livers can be caused by a lot of different things so ask your doctor about possible causes in your case.

i had meningitis a year ago almost went into a coma and was hallucinating and vomiting for hours before i got to the hospital i dont remember much from it after that it seemed like my personality changed i was obsessing with dying and did alot of stupid things i was 16 then 17 now i huffed alot of things for a long time gas cleaner paint thinner every night sometimes several times a day i tried to hang myself and was found unconcious i had broken blood vessels in my face for awhile all of this happened within six or seven months i have gotten better stopped doing all that stuf now i get severe headaches go into rages cant remember what i did yesterday my head gets foggy i dropped out of school i take adderall every day for adhd seroquel cuz i cant sleep at night i feel alot slower and stupider i know it sounds crazy im worried that i permanently damaged myself and wont ever be the same idk what to do about it please help i wanna continue to get better but this is always on my mind

What are the effects of common "all-nighters"?

Ever since I became unemployed, my sleeping pattern has become more and more erratic. I've gotten to the point where I am having 1 to 2 days a week, sometimes 3 of staying up for 30 or so consecutive hours. My sleeping pattern refuses to be stable. Generally shifting 1 to 2 hours later overall a day, even during weeks that I am not pulling all-nighters. While this is generally not having any obvious health effects on me, it has caused some mental instability and some "lagginess" even days after my last all-nighter. Obviously I should go get some sleeping pills or something, it is just taking me a while to convince myself to do so because honestly I try to stay as far away from pills as possible (my body seems to become very easily dependent on any and all medication... for example I had severe mental and physical withdraws from Oxycontin after only 1 week of use after a surgery). But I want to know is there any serious physical effects from this kind of sleeping pattern? Or is most of it mental and the interruption of the normal sleeping cycle? I heard it increases the chance of heart attacks, but being only 27 and I've been done with smoking for about 4 months now I am hoping such risks are minimal for me. I just hope that this kind of issue isn't having very adverse health effects because I honestly don't know how long it's going to take me to force myself to get treatment or force myself back into normal sleeping habits. It just seems like I simply am never tired enough to sleep after the normal 15 to 18 hours of being awake. Even after an active day, heck even after an 8 mile hike... I was still awake all night.

Since 2004, I had dreams of my husband while he was deployed. Well a year ago, that's when it happened. He was killed in the line of duty, almost like it happened in my dream. I'm now a single mama, supporting two children on my own. I miss my husband, but I have learned to pay more attention to my dreams. I had a terrible dream about my former mother in law ping away from some sort of surgery, and that's what happened 33 days ago. I had to take the kids to the funeral to say goodbye. This has not been the best of times for me. I've had dreams that my children are grown, with children other their own. So I know they will prosper. How to deal with mentally ill neighbor?

So i have a crazy big lady neighbor, who one day , a month after moving in knocked on my door one morning yelling at me, been mean to me, accusing me, threatning me because she said Id been "banging" on her wall(her room and my room SHARE a very thing wall), later she found out i had talked about it with our landlord and went super crazy. through the wall i could her saying she wanted to snap my neck!, throw me down the stairs, "tear me down" , and that I was basically gonna get it "next time".so i got scared and basically had an anxiety attack , didnt stay the night at my own house, but landlord reured me she was "pive". so I let it go, but after hearing her make more threats to the wall and constantly calling me and all the other neighbors"stupid Mf****rs" , i filed a police report on her(the cops dont do anything, its just a report). since then im always scared to make too much noise in my own house!, even though i hear her tv every night, her laughter, her yelling and cussing, her snoring-she doesnt like it when she hears anybody else's noise. today I accidently dopped a piece of wood, the noise was somewhat loud but it was an accident , and she banged on my door.I didnt answer this time and my roommate was home so I felt safer, but Im still sick and tired of been scared by her and her sometimes family members, and dont like living in a place like this. should i move out or keep ignoring her, is my landlord obligated to give me back my money in case i wanted to move out before my lease is up.

Should I call and complain about these delivery drivers?

So I bought a bed and they scheduled the delivery for Monday between 5-6 pm. 6:15 rolls around and still no show or no call. I call them and they say the drivers are running late and will be there by 7:30. I have a one year old who is usually in bed by 7 so I was hoping to get it all done before then. So I go ahead and put her to bed. The drivers finally show up at 8:30 and take the old bed away and set up my new one. I was in the middle of homework so I basically just opened the door and showed them the room then went back to homework. After they leave they say it will take 2 hours for the bed to fully inflate back up (Its a tempurpedic). This is a little problematic because I usually try to get to bed by 9:30 or 10 at the latest. The final straw was I walked down the hallway to check out my new bed and it reeks of marijuana! Should I call and complain tomorrow? I mean seriously at least wait until after work to do illegal drugs. I'm thinking there little pit stop(s) to smoke the stuff is what had them so late in the first place. Also these guys did not look Professional at all. Young kids wearing baggy clothes and hoodies. What do you all think? What would you do in this situation?

Burton Custom X vs. Custom?

OK i know i posted a similar question to this but i just cant decide. I want a board that is Good for mellow runs through the parks. Just like getting some Air off jumps and throwing in some grabs. But i also want a board that is good for Carrying decent speeds when im freeriding. Which one would be better for me. I generally freeride more then i Freestyle but i still like to do them both. Also i see the Custom X is pretty stiff. Feel 7. Will i be able to maneuver this board at lower speeds? Also can the custom handle High decent speeds when freeriding or is this just a slow *** board?

You have to realize nobody is funny 24/7. Not even taking into consideration your home life you come from. The most hilarious people in the world are not ALWAYS funny. There are times when they just act normal. For instance, my boyfriend are very goofy withe each other and constantly joking. But there are some times when we talk or are together and were just talking about normal things or being serious. That's life. If you really click with the person you're dating and you are both funny people it will happen naturally but not all of the time. I was kipnap two years ago and have never done anything but I wonder something my last job had me take fingerprints and it came out unreadable. I believe it has more to do with the different styles of fighting. For a long time jujitsu fighters dominated MMA, which the Gracie family contributed greatly to. Then along came the strikers that wanted to prove that their style was more dominate. There are still few fighters that are extremely proficient in both and I emphasize the word few. Child custody in wisconsin?

my boyfriend is trying to get 50/50 custody of my one month old daughter, but i feel he is a very unfit parent and i feel unsafe with her alone, when my baby was two days old he wanted to take her out to show one of his friends, we did not have base with the car seat in my house, after i told him this he said "we could just wrap her up in blankets and you can hold her, ill drive slow" and wanted to take her without the car seat, i have a witness for when this was said. (keep in mind this was in december) his car is also very messy and cluttered and does not have brakes that work properly, also when her umbilical cord was still in healing and needed rubbing alcohol to dry it out we didnt have any in my house, he suggested nail polish remover because it has alcohol in it. his home also has two very large dogs that can jump about five feet high and is very cold. He is wanting to file for a temporary custody and i am so scared the judge will not hear me out, i feel she is much safer with me and want to do what is best for her. can anyone help me and tell me what i can do to save her from this.
