Why does the love i feel hurt and make me cry and at times i feel hatered?

i am in relationshipwith atrue drinker and he gets very mean, but i do love him i think he makes me cry and honestly anymore he is mean when he's not drinkin anymore. sometimes i feel i am only still aroud because i have no where to go and everything belonggs to to is this normal and what do i do
