Isnt Communism a POOR version of Socialism?

Because people don't understand what socialism really is. They are afraid of it because they don't really understand it. We have so many aspects of the fundamentals of socialism in our society today and people don't even realize it. Police dept, libraries, fire dept, Medicare, SOCIAL Security, unemployment, and regulatory agency (FDA, USDA), etc.
