Why can't NBA athletes handle their money, like Latrell Spreewell?

It's not just NBA atheletes, this is a dominant trend in all sports. Hockey players, Boxers, NBA and NFL players, MLB players, and Olympians. You can find this trend anywhere. It's just that people from certain backgrounds and have certain values tend to not understand the value of a good education. They also don't surround themselves with the best financial adivsors so they end up broke and not actually having money to feed their family.
